A five-year performance review of field-scale, slow-release permanganate candles with recommendations for second generation improvements.

Chemosphere, 2016

Using Slow-Release Permanganate Candles to Remove TCE from a Low Permeable Aquifer at a Former Landfill.

Chemosphere, 2012

In this article we take a look back at the first ever use of slow-release oxidants in the field, exploring how well the original “Oxidant Candle(s)®” have performed and what improvements we have made to the treatment system. This review led the creation of our Second Generation Oxidant Candle(s)® and our Modular Oxidant Delivery System.
In this article we describe our investigation of a TCE plume at a municipal landfill and our efforts to remediate that TCE plume. This is the first published use of “Oxidant Candle(s)®” at a contaminated field site. The success of this project sparked the creation of AirLift Environmental.

Using slow-release permanganate candles to remediate PAH-contaminated water.

Hazardous Materials, 2012

This article explores the use of Oxidant Candle(s)® for treating contaminants found in urban runoff. The research found that the original PAH was not mineralized, but was instead transformed into PAHs that are more easily biodegraded in the soil microcosm.

Remediating 1,4-Dioxane-contaminated water with slow-release persulfate and zerovalent iron.

Chemosphere, 2017

1,4-Dioxane is a corrosion inhibitor commonly found with chlorinated solvent contaminated groundwater. The research found that activated persulfate Oxidant Candle(s)® can be used to successful treat 1,4-Dioxane groundwater contamination.
